It's a bit of a jack-of-all-trades 'mech good at several things, but master of none. Release the BattleMaster Now available in the ‘Mech lab for C-Bills and MC. You can get better payload out of most other assault 'mechs if you're willing to sacrifice some speed.
You can get better payload and initiative out of the SDLF Black Knight without sacrificing any speed, jump capability, or energy hard points. The BLR-1GB is by no means a bad 'mech, but it struggles to find a place on a lance with access to SDLF tech. Whether brawling or sniping it's above average speed and ability to mount 4 jump jets make it an ideal 'mech for making crippling shots to an enemie's side or back. Laser Flanker With 8 energy, 2 missile, and 1 support hard point it's easy to see the BLR-1GB intended use. Topping the charts, though, has got to be the BLR-2C. The BLR-1GB also has double engine heat sinks that enable it to sink a base 60 heat per round. The Battlemaster is one of the mechs that’s been variant-spammed to hell (actually tied with a few others for the prestigious award of most variants), which has led to more than a few headaches on my part due to the quirks being pretty goddamn similar on most of them too. With 46.5 tons of payload the BLR-1GB is a 4 ton improvement over the 1G model. Join the club looking for that and an awesome. However, the Mechs image was removed from all publications due to a dispute regarding copyright, becoming Unseen. Extremely rare and expensive, but worth the price. Stalker excels as second-line fire support mech, that can still deal loads of damage to mechs that manage to get close even though it's going to run hot. This model boasts superb weaponry, armor, and heat management systems. Battlemaster is a better brawler as it's faster and has better close range weapons loadout so it's going to win in 1vs1.
